The Ukulele - Absolute Beginners
Gerry Brownridge had his first guitar given as a Christmas present from his brother John, when he was 11 years old. Over the years he has become proficient and plays professionally the guitar, tenor banjo and mandolin as well as the ukulele. Gerry first picked up a ukulele a decade or so ago and now calls it his ‘happy instrument’.
Dave Mallinson didn’t discover folk music and song until the late age of twenty-two and is completely self taught. Hard work, sheer dogged determination and lengthy practice have had to be his way of life. His constant struggle to maintain his skill gives him a unique insight into the problems and difficulties facing beginners and novices.
Gerry’s exceptional skill and experience, combined with Dave’s affinity with beginners, make an ideal combination to present this introduction to the ukulele.
